COLLABORATION: The Recipe for Success

Do you know someone who is a "I can do this by myself. I don't need help" kind of person? I do. And those type of people are racking their brains trying to meet deadlines, wearing a multitude of hats that are impossible to create proficiency or complete understanding.

As a solo business owner, I know the power of collaboration. As a young, newly admitted lawyer, I needed help. I was like a fish out of water. Law school didn't teach me how to run a business and I literally had no idea where to start in terms of setting fees, setting up engagement agreements and more.

I asked for help and received it. Since then, I've created valuable relationships with other lawyers and call on them frequently to either refer matters that I can't handle or ask them to collaborate on cases that I know need the additional

team work.

I learned valuable lessons from collaborating and I'm so excited to introduce this concept to my new sports clients.

There are three ways collaboration can be a recipe for success.

1. It eliminates the burden of doing everything. You're actually splitting up the work and responsibility with someone.

2. Better concentration. When you're not worrying about completing tasks, your anxiety decreases and allows you to become more focused and productive.

3. Client/Customer satisfaction. When you can work well with others, complete tasks timely and eloquently, and provide a finished product to your client or customer, they will be happy and either be a repeat customer or refer someone.

In my new book, What Are You Sporting About?, I talk extensively about creating teams to help you become successful. No matter your industry, we all will need someone else to help us along the way.

Now is the time to identify people or companies that align with your idea or business mission to create a collaboration for success.
